Evan stepped out of the bathroom with a towel wrapped around his waist while drying his hair with another. He padded across the hallway to Natasha's bedroom, where she was getting ready for their dinner date. It was supposed to be a double date night with Natasha's friend Jenn and her boyfriend Sean, who awkwardly was his sister's ex-boyfriend. But according to Tasha, the pair had broken up the night of the adult party... the same night Sean came into his bar....the same night he watched Sean walk out with his sister Kate. He didn't know what happened between the two after that but of course, he wasn't going to offer up any information unless he was being asked.
"So, uh... since it's just the two of us, I was thinking maybe I could show you off at the new place on the Cleopatra." he said as he watched her put her earrings in. "Maybe we could even try our luck at the tables." he playfully wiggled his eyebrows at her.
Tash watched the reflection in the mirror in front of her as Evan entered the room, taking his exposed skin in for a second before smiling at his words and nodding. "Sounds good, I can be your moll or your lucky charm or something." She pulled her hair back, turning her head slightly as she did and glancing at the earring she had just put in. "Might have to choose a different dress if we're going somewhere like that though... and possibly rethink the hair."
Letting it fall back onto her shoulders Tash walked over to the red dress that was hung on the closet door and held it up to herself, moving so that Evan could see her properly. "What do you think? Bond girlish enough for a casino night?"
Evan couldn't help but chuckle as he moved in closer to her, placing his hands on her hips. "I'm sure I have a tux somewhere." he replied, "But I'm afraid I can't be Bondish without a gun and well... I'm sure we wouldn't get clearance inside if I'm loaded."
He pressed his lips to hers briefly before stepping away to continue rubbing the towel over his damp hair. "Your dress is fine. Red looks good on you."
Tash smiled against Evan's lips as he kissed her, letting him step away from her as she took another look at the dress. "You have to say I look good in whatever I wear, it's your job." Chewing on her lip for a moment she opened the closet back up, eyes scanning over the rest of her dresses that were hung up, stopping on a white one she couldn't remember wearing for a while. Switching it for the red she took it off the hanger and stepped into it, turning to look in the full length mirror for a second to admire it. "Could you zip me up."
He took the steps toward her and breathed on her neck, "Hmmm... there's a problem." he said, "See... I've always been much better at taking clothes off...." He reached down and gave her ass a squeeze. "Maybe we should just stay in."
Tash jumped slightly at his playful grope, shaking her head as she laughed. She paused for a moment before placing a hand onto Evan's cheek. "You've got me all dressed up for a night out now though so how about we make a deal... you get lucky at the tables, I'll let you get lucky in here tonight." She leant in to kiss him softly, trailing a finger down his exposed back as her eyes fell closed for a moment.
He raised his brows at her proposal, loving the idea of having motivation to win money. Shit, it was a deal. He reached around her body, linking his hands together behind her back as he looked down at her. "As long as you pucker up them pretty lips and blow on my dice..."
"I still wonder how you managed to pick me up with lines as bad as that." Tash laughed softly, leaning in to kiss him again for a second. "It's a good job you've got the looks isn't it." She giggled again, shaking her head before resting it lightly on his chest. "I should really let you get dressed."
He laughed at her jab, "Well, I thought it was pretty good." he said, referring to the totally dirty line he gave her. He kissed the top of her head and pulled back, "Alright. I suppose I need to get started if I'm gonna try to look half as good as you."
Moving to the closet, he pulled out his best dress shirt and pants. "Well, I guess I should be glad half of my shit is here at your house." he joked as he slipped the slacks on.
An hour later, Evan was pulling his car up in front of the valet service that Cleopatra offered. Stepping out, he quickly moved to the passenger side to open the door for Natasha. Handing some bills to the valet, he thanked the man before linking his arm with his beautiful date's. "I should tell you that I'm fairly unlucky at gambling." he said, leading her up the ramp onto the massive cruiseliner.
Tash took his hand as they headed towards the entrance to the casino. "Seriously? You decide now's the best time to tell me that?" She asked him with a laugh, the noises of the machines getting louder as they walked through the door, Tash giving the man who'd opened it a polite smile before she looked back to her date. "Let's hope I bring you some luck then."
Evan was impressed with how quickly they were greeted by a cocktail waitress carrying a tray of empty glasses. He ordered himself a drink, then gestured to Tasha to order whatever she wanted. After thanking the waitress, they continued inside and Evan lead them straight to a money machine where he was able to add credits to a card. He loaded one for Natasha as well. "Here ya go. Let's go win some money."
With a positive twinkle in his eye, Evan took a seat in front of a slot machine with Natasha claiming the one next to him. He inserted his money card and immediately began playing....immediately losing twenty bucks within a few minutes. Shaking his head, he glanced over to see that his girlfriend was already on a roll. "Well God damn...."
"God damn indeed." Tash agreed, holding a couple of the reels as the let the third spin, smiling as a further $40 was credited to her card. Slots were fun but, well it was just pushing buttons. What she really wanted to do was... her eyes scanning the casino floor for a minute they lit up as she pulled the card from the reader, slipping it into her purse. "I'm just errr... gonna head to the ladies for a second." She whispered into Evan's ear before stepping away from the machines and moving threw the crowd of people towards the poker table. She sat at one of the free seats, handing the card over to the croupier. "Can I get two hundred dollars off this in chips please. One twenty in tens, the rest in twenties."
A half hour later, Evan decided to look for his date. She went to the restroom and got lost perhaps? He cashed out at the slots and stuck his card into his pocket before moving among the crowd. Grabbing himself another drink, he held it as he continued through. As he approached one of the Texas tables, he noticed a rather large crowd had surrounded it. "What's going on?" he asked the man in front of him, "Celebrity card player or something?"
The man kept his eyes on the poker table, but answered Evan, "Don't think so. Just some hot babe on fire at the table here. She's up a grand already."
Evan sipped his drink and tried to look over the man's shoulder, curious to see what everyone else was so intrigued by. His mouth fell open at what he saw: Natasha sitting comfortably at the table with a shitload of chips in front of her. Politely pushing his way through the crowd she developed, he ended up behind her. "Ummm...baby?" he asked, leaning down closer to her ear, "Should I be concerned?"
Tash picked up the mound of chips that had just been pushed in front of her, the fingers of her left hand quickly neatening them into a stack as the right worked to lightly lift the two cards that had just been dealt to her. She glanced up as she heard Evan behind her, turning to him with a small smile. "Sorry, I, uh, found a chip as I walked past the table and played it? Seem to be on a roll here." She grinned at him with a wink before looking at the guy sitting next to her, "See here's the thing Tom, you just shouldn't lie to a lady and expect to get away with it. Especially with a tell as bad as yours." Tash smiled at him softly, passing some chips to the growing pile on the table as the round continued. "I'd say go all in, face it, you haven't really got that much left anyway and I don't think your ego can take much more bruising."
Evan raised his brow as his sweetheart of a girlfriend spit out her version of 'trash talking' to her competitor. "A chip? As in... singular?" he asked, watching how naturally she moved her chips around the table.
Managing to keep the smile on her face she glanced back to Evan, lowering her voice so that only he could hear her above the murmur of the crowds surrounding the table. "Ok, I started with the two hundred. Hundred was what you started me off on, the rest I won on that slot machine. I'm currently on fifteen hundred here so yeah, they all want to play poker against the small time sweet girl who just keeps 'lucking out' with her cards I say let them." She turned back to the croupier, her straight face returning. "I'm gonna see the bet and raise to three hundred."
Evan stared at his girlfriend in utter and complete awe. Did she just say fifteen hundred? As in... she's won thirteen hundred dollars so far? On... cards? Holy shit, Evan never knew she had it in her. His open mouth finally closed, forming a grin of pride. This was his woman right here. She was freaking smarter than he thought. Deciding it was best that he not continue trying to carry on a conversation with his gambling queen, he watched quietly as she resumed winning more chips with each hand. Good God, he loved her!
Every now and then between hands Tash would glance behind her to where Evan was stood. Occasionally taking his drink from him to take a sip before returning her attention to the other players. She tucked a strand of hair behind her ear as she shuffled the piles of chips together, raising the corners of her cards and checking the cards she'd been dealt she frowned slightly. Drumming her fingers for a moment she turned to look at Evan. "You trust me right?" She asked, waiting for a response before she made her next move.
Evan kissed her cheek, "You're the one that's ahead two grand now...." he said, totally impressed by Natasha's card skills. Shit, he was going to have to get her to teach him how to play.
Nodding she turned back to the table, a hand behind each stack of chips as she pushed them forwards, letting them cascade over the table. "I'm all in, last round I'm gonna be playing here tonight guys, you gonna make it interesting for me?"
Evan watched her push all of her earnings into the middle of the table, 'going all in'. Lifting his drink, he downed the rest of its contents, feeling anxious for his lady. Everyone watched quietly, with the only sounds being that of the slot machines behind them. He's watched moments like these on that celebrity poker tournament a dozen times. Funny how he still couldn't play half as good as Natasha. He stood still behind her, barely breathing as the cards were slowly turned over on the table...

Tash stood in the hotel suite paid for with a percentage of her winnings earlier that evening, only a bed sheet wrapped round her body as she looked out of the full length window, taking in the full neon lit view of the city. She was 40 stories above ground in the penthouse suite and no-one could see her yet she could see everything below. Smiling to herself she looked to the sky for a moment, watching the clouds move and allow the moon to shine down, illuminating the sky along with all the stars that shone with it. As soon as she'd seen the two aces Tash had know that the hand was hers. She had also known that her luck wasn't going to last for ever, as her Nana had always told her when she'd taught her poker all those years ago, Tash had to know when to quit and after being dealt what she had she knew there was no way she could keep the streak up any longer.
Hearing a short, sharp knock and the shout of 'Room service!' Tash turned from the window and headed to let the bellboy in, "Foods here!" She called into the bathroom where Evan had wandered from the bed a few short moments earlier. She pulled the door open, letting the guy walk in as she walked to her purse to get some cash to pay.
Evan stepped out of the bathroom wearing the a plush white robe that the hotel provided. His hair was still damp from his shower. It was the second one he took today, but after the hot and sweaty love making he and Natasha just did for the past hour or so, his body needed refreshing. He walked over to the tray of food, inhaling the smell. "Man.. with all the calories I just burned, I think I could eat an entire herd." he said, looking down at the steak he ordered.
He still couldn't believe that Natasha had just cleaned house at the casino. Who knew she had it in her? He'd have to remember that if and when he ever ended up in a financial crisis. He'd hand her a hundred bucks, pat her on the ass, and with a kiss she would be sent off. Her skills were such a turn on that he couldn't keep his hands off of her ever since they left the casino and headed for the hotel.
With a small tut which quickly turned itself into a laugh, Tash handed the young male enough money to cover the meals along with a small tip. Waiting till he'd left the room she headed back to the bed, picking up the plate holding her crab cakes and smiled, taking a few seconds to get herself comfy, leaning against the headboard before she took a fork full of her food. She took a long breath, "These are amazing!" Tash told Evan, "Worth every cent... as is the room, and as for the company..."
Evan kissed her cheek as he climbed into the bed and started to cut into his steak. "Yea...I don't think I've ever stayed in a place this incredible before." he said between bites, "Not even on my wedding night." He picked up the glass of wine that Natasha poured for him and sipped on it as he watched her. As if it were possible, his attraction to her grew times ten in a matter of hours.
"So uh.. what time you have to be at the airport tomorrow?" he asked.
"Talk of your wedding night, just what every girl hopes her boyfriend will use as pillow talk." Tash laughed, reaching out and slapping the top of Evan's arm lightly. She looked up in thought for a moment as she tried to remember the answer to Evan's question. "One I think... or possibly two, Ben's picking me up at about half twelve to make sure we're there in plenty of time."
"Oh, right." he replied, then resumed cutting his steak, "And why is that again that your ex boyfriend is taking you to pick her up and not me?" Who would have thought that one day he would feel a tad bit jealous of Lila's grandson.
"Ben's.... well he's like a grandson to her, and he has Maggie who she can't wait to meet." She took another chunk from her food and ate it in silence for a moment. Truth was she'd have preferred Evan to have been taking her to the airport but Nate being Nate had organised it all and now that Ben had been invited she could hardly uninvite him. "It's hardly like you're not going to get to meet her anyway is it, she's moving in with me for however long."
"Yea I know." he replied, smirking over at her, "Just wanted to be a pain in the ass, that's all."
"Yeah? Well it's not a look that suits you. I mean by all means come as well if you want, can't guarantee how exciting it's going to be though." Tash laughed, reaching over with her fork and stabbing a piece of steak with it. She took a bite before nodding, agreeing with his earlier statement. "This is good steak!"
He reached over to snag one of her crab cakes. It was only fair, right? "Nah, I was only kidding." he waved it off, "I'm sure your grams will be overwhelmed as it is, with her flight, and seeing you, and then everyone else. We'll just stick to the plan and I'll be waiting at your place. I'll meet her then."
"Yeah, sure, stick to the plan." Tash agreed as she watched Evan, "And of course you can have a crab cake." She added with a laugh, "And before you say it, yes it's different."
Evan nodded as he chewed the crab cake, deciding that it wasn't all that bad. "So uh, tell me something..." he started as he continued to chew, "Your grams even remotely halfway as bad as your brother?"
"One day you'll realise how much you and Nate have in common." Tash told Evan with a shrug, "And then you'll become great friends... well, friends would be good, or you know, you'll at least learn to tolerate each other." She laughed lightly, picking at the salad garnish on her plate. "Nana is amazing, she's one of those people that everyone calls Nan, she practically encourages it."
He chuckled at her comment regarding his and Nate's similarities. He wasn't against the idea of them becoming friends, hell - he was hoping for that considering he planned to ask Natasha to marry him. "I think I can tolerate your brother." he said, thinking about his last conversation with Nate about his future proposal. He strongly believed they could be cool somewhere down the line. "And if she's half as amazing as you, I think I will love her." he added with a smile.
