Kate immediately shot Wes a look of thanks and let out a heavy sigh, since now it seemed an argument was now brewing. "Oh, I dunno, Jagger. Maybe to avoid you reacting like this?"

Wes' brow furrowed as he looked from Kate to Jagger to Kate again in utter disbelief. Pulling his hands out of his pockets as volume of the conversation rose with the tension, Wes folded his arms across his chest. "Ok, ya'll need to calm the hell down. You acting worse than the 10-year olds," he interjected. Sure, he thought Jagger might be surprised and get a little protective but he didn't expect him to drive right over the edge.
"Look, you wanna hunt down the kid that Kayley has a crush on and go all "Kill Bill" on his ass because he gave her a lil peck on the lips. Go ahead. Knock yourself out. All power to you. I wish you luck in getting past his mother. Kristen will prolly have your dick in a Ziploc baggie before ya know what hit you. Besides, Kayley could have done a hell of a lot worse for her first kiss than Jake Buchanan."

Before Jagger could respond, Kate held her hands out and chimed in, "And just so you know...they were both sat down and tortured for a good half hour while I made Wes explain the birds and the bees to them. They were pretty grossed out...and confused. Trust me... I don't think it will happen again." She paused then added, "At least not for another couple years anyway..."

"I'm not actually going to hurt the kid," Jagger replied, rolling his eyes. He huffed slightly and shook his head. Logically, he knew this wasn't a big deal, but it still, bothered him. For all intents and purposes, Kayley was his daughter, even if it was Wes's name on her birth certificate and the idea of any guy touching his little girl, be it at 10 years old or 30 years old, just made him feel extra protective. He didn't give two shits that the kid was Jake Buchanan either, that didn't matter to him whatsoever. Boys were still boys, regardless of who their parents were.
"I...I Just don't like thinking of Kayley doing stuff like that. I feel like she was just a baby, you know?

"And the 'Oh-My-God-my-little-girl-is-growing-up' freak-out is completely adorable and I'm sure your mama still feels the same way about you. And her baby's got babies of his own. Face it, bub, she's growing up and you gettin' OLD!" Wes said, the corners of his mouth tugging up in to an amused grin. "Just be happy some of us would still rather see you sunbathing naked than Kate."

Jagger gave Wes a smirk and tilted his head. "I have a fan club that disagrees with you," he told him, cracking a grin that crinkled up his eyes. "But I guess I should say thank you? Glad to know you enjoy taking a peek every now and then. Makes me feel special."

Kate looked from Wes to Jagger, then back again, before finally tossing her hands up in defeat. "Seriously? Do you two, like, wanna get a room somewhere?"

"It should," Wes said with an assertive nod. He then glanced back up at the house and the light in Kayley's bedroom window. "Well, I should probably go inside and see how my favorite female's first day at school went."
He turned to walk away then paused and turned back to Jagger. "Relax, man. It was just a peck on the lips. It's not like he did this."
Then, out of nowhere, Wes stepped up to Jagger's car window, bent down, grabbed the other man by the back of the head and kissed him full on the lips. There may not have been any tongue action but there was no mistaking this for "just a peck," and Wes held the kiss for several seconds before releasing Jagger. "When that happens, start worrying," he said then, giving Kate a wink, Wes turned and headed up to the house.
He made it a couple of yard before turning back to Kate and Jagger. "Hmmm...I just sexually assaulted Jagger St. Croix in full view of the public," he posited, "I wonder if I'll make the tabloids." Then, with a childish snicker, Wes turned back around and trotted the rest of the way to the house and disappeared inside before he could catch any immediate fall-out.

Now Jagger was not afraid of, nor was he uncomfortable around gay men. He was secure in his own manhood to be comfortable with them, even when they hit on him. He had his fair share of them touch him in places that could make a less secure man blush, but he was not prepared for Wes' kiss. He made no move to pull away, not that he thought he would, get fairanyways, what with the grip Wes had on him.
when Wes pulled back finally and walked away, Jagger sent Kate a dazed kind of look before shaking his head, deciding to be amused by that rather than annoyed. "I'll remember that. Thanks for the lesson Wes," he replied sarcastically. "Don't start hating on me when your ass is getting death threats from 25 year old crazies, both gay and straight." He smirked. Kate had gotten them, and if by some stretch of imagination someone caught this, Wes would be sure to have them too. He could care less about the tabloids at this point too. They were dirt.

She wasn't even sure what just happened. Did Wes just...? Did he use tongue? No. So many questions. Kate stood motionless for a moment, only moving her eyes to follow Wes up toward the house before he disappeared inside. Turning back to Jagger, who seemed surprisingly calm, she eyed him carefully, "Is there something I should know about you two?" she asked. She knew there was nothing going on between them OBVIOUSLY, but she was just confused by what she just witnessed.

Jagger laughed and shook his head. "Not in the slightest," he assured her. "I just think he was looking for a reaction and I wasn't going to give it to him. Besides, he's married. Not like he was seriously trying to start so,etching."
he he looked up at the house and them back to her. "Between you and I, I was seriously tempted to slip him the tongue, just to screw with him."

"Yea... I'm gonna have to have a talk with that one." Kate said, laughing, "I better head in. I don't really trust Wes to watch his mouth in there without me around." She looked at Jagger, her eyes not able to really tear from his, "Let me know if you hear from Andy?"

"Yeah, I will," Jagger promised her, letting her lock her eyes with his. For a moment, there was a flare there of something, a flicker from the past. It would be too easy, too simple to reach out and pull kate down to him for a kiss as he had done so many times before but he didn't sct on it. They had been there before, years ago, and thy had long since decided it was a bad idea to have any physical involvement whatsoever. It would be too messy. Jagger may have been bitter and hurt over how everything between them ended, but it did nothing to stamp away the physical attraction which had always persisted between them.
instead, he reached out and turned his car back on, taking a moment to adjust his mirrors as he got ready to leave. "Wouldn't surprise me if he show up at home later."

Finally releasing his gaze, Kate adjusted her purse strap on her shoulder and flashed him a smile, "Night Jagger." Without another word, she turned on her heels and headed up toward the house. Things were so messed up. He shouldn't be leaving right now. He should be parking his car in THEIR garage and coming inside with her. She sighed as she reached the door. She was the only one to blame when it came to why things were the way they were. She became a raging jealous lunatic and well, Jagger didn't deserve that. He had always been good to her, even when he didn't have to be. So now Kate was a thirty four year old single mother. Sure she had the occasional date here and there, but she had yet to feel that fire that she felt with Jagger with anyone else. Maybe she just hadn't met him yet...

Jagger watched her walk into the house having the same thoughts she did. He should have been parking the car and going into the house with her. His house. Their house. Their family's house. Instead though, he was backing out of the driveway and heading back into the city to his place there. It made him sad. Sad for everything he knew he was missing out on.
