appearance: ared carried a deep resemblance of the Lefabre side of the family, showing none of the fair features of his mother but instead bestowed with the dark, mysteriously handsome features of his father. His hair was a darker brown than Colby’s yet lighter than Brandi’s. Jared had an athletic build and stayed in shape through a mixture of weights and martial arts training--alongside his closest ‘friend’ and former number two, Duncan Walsingham.
style:For a person of Jared’s social stature, image and reputation equaled power. Therefore, to help him exude confidence as well as exemplify his own success, he dressed in the most expensive designer suits his money would buy, each one tailored specifically for him.
However, even when he dressed down, Jared still managed to impress. Whether he were wearing a tight-fitting t-shirt, a wife-beater, or simply loosened his tie and unbuttoned his shirt--or even just walked around in naught but his birthday suit--Jared exuded a raw, confident masculinity that women often found irresistible and men found intimidating.!

general personality: Despite the rumors that he didn’t have one, Jared kept his heart protected, shielded behind a thickly walled façade of cold indifference and soulless ambition. To the casual eye, he appeared to be little more than a ruthless, uncaring businessman hell-bent on acquiring even more money and power for himself. Succumbing to the belief that revealing one’s feelings is weakness, Jared was as cold as steel and often just as hard.
While he seemed to view the rest of his family as ‘disposable,‘ his children--Alia and Anthony--were the only people to whom Jared had dedicated himself whole-heartedly and could breach his icy defenses with ease. Jared would have done anything and everything to protect his twin children from the multitude of enemies he’d made over the years, especially their maternal great-grandfather Aristotle Paradis and his grandson Xander.

history: While Vanessa stepped into the role of their mother following Antoinette’s death shortly after Colby was born, Jared--as the eldest son--embraced his birthright and began training at the family company, Le Monde Lefabre Transportation & Shipping, preparing for the time when he would have to take his father’s place. After graduating from high school and, eventually, from Princeton University, Jared was sent to Marseilles, France to intern under Aristotle Paradis--a business associate of Louis’ and owner of Paradis Enterprises, a technology and entertainment corporation.
It was during his tutelage under Aristotle that Jared would encounter four people who would change his life forever:
Aristotle Paradis, first only a mentor, would become like a second father to Jared as the young Lefabre man’s hard-work, decisiveness and ambition initially drew both praise and admiration from the older business man. Jared’s fall from grace, however, triggered a reaction from Aristotle that would launch their families into a bitter and bloody feud.
Jared also reconnected with Duncan Walsingham, a former chauffeur for the Lefabre family, lover of Vanessa when they were both teenagers and Colby’s biological father. Sent away by Louis after it was discovered Vanessa was pregnant, Duncan had become a highly skilled--and well connected--Paradis thug, often sent on Aristotle’s most important and more sensitive assignments. Duncan would quickly become a close friend and crucial ally to Jared, eventually proving his deeply seeded loyalty to the Lefabre family.
Unlike the rest of the family, Xander Paradis--Aristotle’s slothful playboy grandson--despised Jared from the first day they met and jealously loathed the approval and attention Aristotle paid to Louis Lefabre’s eldest son. Though Jared initially shrugged Xander off as little more than a spoiled brat, following Jared’s fall from grace, Xander would fast become Jared’s chief adversary and--until the death of Louis and Jared taking his place at the head of LML-- was initially held in check only by Duncan‘s resources and knowledge of the Paradis operation.
Finally, and most importantly, was Cassandra Tennyson. Despite her being Aristotle’s granddaughter, as well as being married to Sir David Tennyson--owner of a British pharmaceuticals company, and an associate of Louis and Aristotle--Jared found himself inexplicably drawn to the passionate, strong-willed and exotically beautiful Cassie. Their affair began gradually, at first only a series of stolen glances which progressed to intermittent moments of awkward tension as they worked alongside each other in Aristotle’s company.
Then, while working on a project late one night and arguing about its upcoming deadline, the tension broke. Following that initial night in the conference room of Paradis Enterprises, Jared and Cassie began to meet for secret interludes every chance they got. For months, their affair remained unnoticed--or uncared about--by Aristotle and Cassie’s husband, David; although Duncan quickly stumbled upon the illicit relationship, remembering the similar situation he’d been in with Vanessa and out of his loyalty to Jared and the Lefabre family-- which far outweighed any commitment he’d made to Aristotle--he kept his silence and even made efforts to help conceal their affair.
Everything hit the fan when Cassie discovered she was pregnant, which coincided with Jared and Duncan uncovering an underground program being run by Tennyson Pharmaceuticals and Paradis Enterprises. The two companies, assisted by other wealthy associates, had begun a genetic engineering program attempting to manipulate women’s eggs and men’s sperm in the hopes of creating a “better” human. A file in the program’s database revealed Cassie to be one of the experiment's unknowing female subjects.
Realizing their baby would have been affected by the tests and would, thus, be looked upon by Aristotle as something to test and research, Jared and Cassie, along with Duncan and with the assistance of Aristotle’s prodigal daughter--and disavowed mother of Xander--Andromeda Paradis they fled and went into hiding.
For months, they bounced around from country to country before returning to the States so Cassie could give birth to what had now been determined to be twins. It was while the couple--along with Duncan--were hiding out in Wichita, Kansas that they were finally discovered by Aristotle’s men. Realizing their cover was blown, the trio attempted to escape but were intercepted as they were leaving the house. A fire-fight ensued and Cassie was struck in the chest by a bullet intended for Jared.
After Duncan seemingly single-handedly pulled off their escape, they rushed to the hospital. Fearful for the lives of the children should Cassie not survive the surgery for her wounds, the doctors performed a caesarean; Cassie died on the operating table.
Knowing that Aristotle would blame him for Cassie’s death and would be after his head, Jared took his children and returned to Los Angeles in the hope of getting help from his father. He would receive a cold welcome.
Unwilling to anger his ally, Louis pressured Jared to turn the children over to their maternal great-grandfather. Believing they would have to blackmail Louis into helping him, Jared and Duncan began to dig into Louis’ affairs and soon uncovered a new will Louis had written that explicitly disinherited Colby--Duncan and Vanessa’s son who had grown up believing he was Louis and Antoinette’s youngest--as well as an agreement between Louis and Aristotle offering then seventeen year-old Kristen as a wife to Xander.
Eventually confiding in Vanessa his situation along with the information he and Duncan had uncovered, Jared and his older sister--hesitantly on her part--realized that, in order to protect Colby, Kristen, and Jared’s twins Alia and Anthony, they would have to “remove” Louis from the equation.
The plan: Jared and Duncan would lure Louis out onto the Lefabre family yacht--the Marie Antoinette--and kill him, dumping his body into the ocean. When the authorities discovered the body, Vanessa provided the men with an airtight alibi, removing them from the list of suspects. Louis Lefabre’s murder would remain unsolved.
With their father out of the way, Jared--with his sister Brandi and Duncan by his side--took over the reins of Le Monde Lefabre Transportation & Shipping, while Vanessa busied herself with the younger Lefabres--Brock, Kristen, and Colby. With Jared’s leadership, Duncan’s knowledge and contacts, and the resources of the family company at his disposal, Jared eventually managed to bring the feud to a draw. Once he felt secure, Jared turned Alia and Anthony over to Vanessa and asked his sister to hide them. Believing the best place to hide the children was out in the open, Vanessa sent them--unbeknownst to Jared and Duncan--to Chateau Blanche, the Lefabre family plantation in Louisiana.
Shortly after stalemating Aristotle, Jared was visited by Andromeda Paradis who carried information that would prove crucial in helping Jared and Duncan keep in step with the powerful Aristotle. The Lefabre, Paradis, and Tennyson families--along with six others--were part of a secret society called the Sanctum whose sole purpose was to manipulate international politics, policies, and events--from behind the scenes--to suit their own interests. She also revealed that, with Louis now dead, Jared was now his family’s rightful representative in the Sanctum’s nine-member governing body.
Five years passed and the feud between the Paradis and Lefabre families had fallen still. But as his younger siblings grew up and Kristen began to take an interest in the company--specifically in cleaning up what she viewed as her elder brother and sister’s taint--Jared became worried that he could lose control of the company and leave himself and the family open to Aristotle’s retribution. With Brandi subtly manipulating him--unaware that she had grown tired of being second fiddle and allied herself with Xander--began an attempt to greedily extort the rest of the family’s shares from them.
After orchestrating an attack on his own sister, Kristen, Jared received most of what he had demanded. Vanessa--furious at her brother--traded her shares to him in exchange for the family house and, as executor of Kristen and Colby’s inheritances, sold the younger two Lefabres’ stocks to him as well. Despite Brock giving his shares to Faith Sanchez--the woman who would twice become Jared’s fiance’--Jared had gotten what he was after, he now held sixty-six percent of Le Monde Lefabre, more than enough retain control of the company.
Confident that his position at the company was now secure, Jared once again turned his attention to the Paradis family; rumors had begun circulating that Xander Paradis was making frequent trips to Los Angeles but no matter how much digging Jared and Duncan did, Xander managed to keep the nature of his business secret.
It wasn’t until a letter from Jared (forged by Brandi), to a gigolo offering the man $25,000 to impregnate Kai-ling Tsung, fell into Yan Tsung’s hands did Jared and Duncan realize that Brandi was working with Xander and against them. Yan, Jared’s former business ally, launched a full-scale mob war against Jared and Le Monde-Lefabre. The two underworld kingpins duked it out, leading to the destruction of several LML freighters, the Tsung-owned club Globe as well as the bombing of the LML home office at Lefabre Tower.
Presumed dead in the bombing, Jared was secreted off by Duncan to a hospital in Paris. The move, unfortunately, delivered Jared into the hands of Xander Paradis who paid the doctors to push Jared into a drug induced coma. While Duncan was back in Los Angeles exacting revenge on the Tsungs, Xander and his allies performed an ancient religious ritual that would invoke spirits of the dead into sleeping bodies. Having divined Vanessa’s involvement in the disappearance of the twins--and determining she was the key to finding them--the ceremony was also performed on her while she slept in her room in the clinic where she was undergoing alcohol rehabilitation.
Upon waking, those around him--and who knew him--noticed immediately that Jared (as well as Vanessa) had changed. Possessed by his father, Jared and Vanessa--who was possessed by something masquerading as their mother--unleashed their fury upon Los Angeles: unlocking Faith’s memories about the night her brother was murdered, killing Yan and Liu, sending thugs out to hunt down Kai and Jaime, alienating Duncan by sucking Colby into “the family business,” attempting to recover “Jared’s” children, murdering Alia’s and Anthony’s governess as well as the plantation groundskeeper.
Alia and Anthony, after successfully escaping “Vanessa’s” attempt to retrieve them from Chateau Blanche, sought out Duncan and were instrumental in helping their father’s longtime friend and the newly married Kai Seda realize what was going on. The trap was set, Jared was summoned to the Tsung mansion and confronted by Kai, Jaime, Duncan, Brock, Colby, Alia, Anthony and a local psychic named Tess. Over come by the sheer numbers, Jared underwent an exorcism performed by Tess and Louis’ spirit was expelled from his body.
Weakened by the events, Jared was left in the care of Kai and Jun while the men went off to LML to confront the seemingly more powerful Vanessa. During their absence, Xander Paradis and cadre of men burst into the Tsung mansion, fought with Kai and the Tsung bodyguards, and took Jared’s twins. Before leaving, Xander discovered Jared lying in a bedroom and seized the opportunity to plant a bullet in his rival’s head.
To Kai’s surprise, her doctors reported that they had stopped the bleeding and that Jared was alive; he was in a coma and it wasn’t likely he would ever come out, but he was alive. Kai, having learned several lessons during a brief tutelage under Duncan, hid Jared--letting the rest of the world believe he was dead.
Jared lay unconscious for months, cared for by Kai's doctors who were under the supervision of his long-time ally, Duncan--who had gone to work for Kai while Colby struggled with Brandi over control of LML.
When he finally awoke again, Jared discovered Duncan missing--unaware Kai and Xander had killed Duncan, Colby running Le Monde Lefabre, Kai Tsung married to Xander, and his children in their custody. Jared remained in hiding as he worked to find the best means of getting rid of Xander permanently without also invoking the wrath of the Sanctum. He got his answer when he located the island where Aristotle had banished his other grandson, Leo, a decade earlier. The answer came in the form of Iris Stanton, the FBI agent that Xander had kidnapped and sent to the island as well.
With his rival on the way to federal prison, Jared finally revealed publicly that he was still alive and set about re-building his life. He got all of the money in his bank accounts that Colby had inherited restored to him, and "traded" his shares of LML to Colby in exchange for the yacht "Marie Antoinette" which Jared re-named "Cleopatra" and has remodeled into a floating casino and hotel complete with on board restaurant, bar, and boutique.
