appearance: Leo is a man of stature and that’s not just attributed to his height. Standing 6’4 and 210 lbs, his build falls into athletic and of one who takes good care of their body. Leo’s earthy brown hair is kept short and acts more the part of wild mane then norm, but a touch of product helps keep it in check. An heart shaped face is nearly covered up by his beard and though he shaves on a semi regular basis, straggles of it seem to be a ever petulant foe.
The corners of his mouth naturally curl, giving a touch of a mischievous smirk to any emotion he portrays. Faint lines have begun to crease his brow and at the corner of his eyes and though conceited about them, hasn’t done anything drastic to be rid of them. His eyes are a hazel in color, fading into either a hue of green or brown depending on his choice of clothing.

general personality: As a result of his years-long isolation from other people, Leo often has difficulty interacting with others and tends to prefer the quiet of solitude to the hustle, bustle, and noise of large groups. Therefore, when he does meet people he tends to come across as very distant and detached. Add that to the fact that Leo is amazingly intelligent—bordering on brilliant—and he knows it, he can often seem arrogant and overly-confident in his own abilities and appears to look down on others. This is only further enhanced by Leo’s low-tolerance for what he calls irrelevancies and pettiness that seems to abound in people who are, in his mind, less intelligent.
However, despite his apparent coldness and the direct way with which he deals with other—often not sparing their feelings in criticism—Leo does genuinely care for others and contrasts greatly with his grandfather and cousin Xander in the fact that Leo does not view other people as little more than means to an end. He prefers directness to subtle innuendo, honesty to deceit, and simple requests and orders to manipulation and coercion.

history: As the eldest grandson of Aristotle Paradis, Leo was born into a position where it was automatically assumed that he would succeed his grandfather and father as the head of the illustrious and powerful Paradis family and assume their position within the secretive Sanctum. Much of his early life was spent with the best tutors that the western world had to offer, all in the hopes of creating the perfect heir, someone who could lead the Paradis family into the twenty-first century and solidify their position of dominance within the inner circle of the Sanctum.
However, after the death of Leo’s father Heron, Nora Paradis’ concerns that this destiny that Aristotle had mapped out for her son would cost him his life or, worse, turn him into the same monster that the Paradis patriarch had become. In an effort to save her son from the manipulation and control of the domineering Aristotle, Nora—with the help of several of Leo’s tutors—faked Leo’s test scores to reflect to Aristotle that his heir was performing poorly in school despite all his efforts. When his grandfather became concerned, Nora and the tutors doctored-up several papers that diagnosed Leo as suffering from a multitude of learning disorders.
Angry and disappointed that his only legitimate male heir was “retarded,” Aristotle banished Leo and his mother from the Paradis estates in France and shipped them back to Greece to live in isolation. There, Leo continued to receive the best education that his mother—a former school teacher—could provide him. Leo, contrary to the documentation shown to his grandfather, was a stellar student, achieving high marks from his tutors and quickly became well versed in advanced mathematics, sciences, world literature and fluent in several languages.
Eventually, Aristotle learned that he had been tricked by his daughter-in-law and discovered that, not only was Leo not developmentally challenged; his grandson was in fact rather brilliant. Unfortunately, too much time had passed and Aristotle had since been preparing and posturing for his other grandson—the illegitimate son of his daughter, Andromeda—to become his heir. Unwilling to embarrass himself by reversing course again, Aristotle lashed out at Nora for deceiving him and forced her into seclusion in Morocco, after which he turned his attention to “getting rid” of Leo.
Faced with two options, leave willingly to be banished on a deserted island in Fiji and live the rest of his life alone or watch as his mother was killed for her deceit. Determined to protect his mother in return for her life-long efforts to shield him, Leo willingly went with several Paradis men to Fiji and was dropped off on the island to live the rest of his days by himself in a house that Aristotle had built specifically for him. Ever since his banishment, Leo has continued to advance his education—one of the few things his grandfather allowed him to do—through the internet and has since acquired master’s degrees in business and accounting, a juris doctorate, as well as a doctorate in literature.
After ten years, Leo's island "paradise" was thrown into chaos with the arrival of the petulant FBI agent and kidnap victim Iris Stanton. For over a year, Leo and Iris tensely occupied the same space on the island engaging in an endless battle of wills and personality broken only when the intensity drove them between the sheets.
It would, however, end up being Iris and her petulance and willfulness that would gain Leo his freedom from the island and his ticket back to the civilized world. Since arriving in Los Angeles, Leo has taken up residence in a secluded beach house and devoted his time and energy to passing the California Bar Exam--which he did with flying colors--and gaining a post with the Los Angeles District Attorney's office.
