full name: Emma Alise Bailey[/blockquote]
nicknames: Em
age: 24
birthday: August 27th
sexual orientation: hetero
occupation:Full-time position as the Photographer for Juice Magazine
living arrangement: She rents a modest, but comfortable, two-bedroom apartment in a calm part of L.A. It’s a two bedroom, though she uses one of the rooms as her own little photography studio/office.
vehicle: Blazen Orange Metallic colored 2006 Pontiac GTO. It took her a long time to save up the money for it!

appearance: Emma is fairly tall, measuring 5’8” and weighs approximately 125 pounds. She has a rather slim figure, which is kept through healthy eating and regular exercise. She has a kind of regal beauty, with her long, silky blonde hair, fair skin, chiseled jaw, and fine cheekbones. In fact, Emma would pass as an ice queen without a problem, if it wasn’t for her perpetual smile. More often than not, her face is alight with a smile, whether it be a small one, bright one, giddy one, impish one, and the list goes on. It’s rather rare for Emma to lose her smile – if she does, then something is very wrong. While her smile is rather attractive and striking, her most unique physical feature is, without a doubt, her eyes. She has sectoral heterochromia, making her left eye completely blue while her right eye is blue on top while brown on the bottom. While that trait of hers is rather strange, many find that it just adds to her appeal.
style:While at work, Emma enjoys looking professional and wears skirts, dresses, blouses, dress pants, and heeled shoes, often from rather pricey places (though she is completely willing to recycle her outfits, and quite frequently too). Off work, though, she dresses much more casually, usually in jeans, t-shirts, and sneakers or sandals. With her natural beauty, she doesn’t have to try hard to look good, so she usually sticks to earthy, barely noticeable tones for makeup and rarely does much with her hair. Jewelry doesn’t often grace her body, but when it does, it’s usually a ring or a bracelet or maybe a pair of simple earrings. She’s not for wearing very revealing clothes, and she often cares more about comfort than anything else. While an outfit may make her look outstanding, if it’s not comfortable, she won’t wear it.

general personality: Emma is definitely caring, charismatic, and full of energy. She’s like that bubbly, cheerful girl in high school that has somehow managed to make it into the adult world without losing much of her optimism. Every now and then, her constant energetic state may annoy people, but most of the times, she’s very endearing and it’s rather hard to hate a girl who doesn’t mean any harm. She’s very quick to smile, is very warm and genuine, and is always willing to help out someone.
Her friendliness can often get her into trouble because most of the times, she can’t tell a good person from bad, and even if everyone in the world claims that being close or talking to a certain person can bring her no good, Emma insists that there’s always some good in the person. Because of that, she can often end up getting hurt but most of the times, she bounces back at full force, though the hurt is never forgotten. Her naiveté and optimism can often be seen as both a blessing and a curse, for she can constantly find herself hurt due to placing her trust in an unreliable person, yet, her optimism will, sooner or later, come back, and she’ll be her happy, carefree self once more.
Perhaps her greatest weakness is that she can never tell a lie. Emma the Honest, that’s her. She could try her damnedest to lie herself out of trouble, but she’s never been able to do that successfully. When she lies, she exhibits very obvious signs, including biting her bottom lip, fidgeting, not being able to look the person in the eye, and stuttering.
Emma’s a sweet girl and a lot of fun to be around, but she also has her fears and her occasional PMS moments when she may be more prone to becoming annoyed. She loves to joke around and have fun, but she also knows when it’s time to be serious. She has a great sense of humor, and teasing (with good intentions) comes naturally to her. Also, her greatest love in the world is for photography, for she truly understands just how meaningful photos can be to a person, for they are able to capture moments that can never be repeated again. She’s very open-minded and understands, and even likes the fact, that nobody is perfect.

history: Emma grew up in the San Francisco Bay area along with her older brother and younger sister. The Bailey family was always pretty happy and got through with few and minor troubles in their lives. While her mother focused a lot of time on Piper and her modeling career, Emma was always closer to her father. Those two would often spend their days playing soccer, running, or shooting baskets in the basketball court in the park nearby.
Ever since she was three, Emma’s exhibited her exemplary memory in everything she did. Her parents realized it when she, after she had watched The Lion King one time, was singing the entire “Oh I Just Can’t Wait to be King” song to herself, and then imitating all the animal voices and their dialogues afterwards. It was quite a sight to behold. Her keen memory extended to things she read, music she heard, and pretty much anything she saw.
Even though she had a photographic memory, her parents didn’t see any reason for her to go to any special schools. In fact, in a regular public school, she fit in quite well with her peers. She wasn’t the smartest person in the grade, for while her memory was perfect and helped in English and History classes, it was really of no use in math or science classes. Numbers never came naturally to her, and science was, well, hell for her. It didn’t matter if she could recite all the formulas in her sleep; applying it was hard for her because she just didn’t understand the concepts.
In high school, Emma was definitely one of the more popular girls in school, due mainly to her beauty and her outgoing attitude. Her infectious smile often enchanted her peer, and her friendly personality allowed her to make a number of friends. Also, during her high school years, she found her one passion in life – photography. One would have thought that she would have considered that career choice earlier, given her photographic memory, but she never realized her love for it until she joined Yearbook, and later the school newspaper, and had to start taking pictures.
Photography, to Emma, is more than just taking photos. It’s all about capturing the moment – the right moment. If it can’t be captured, then it will have disappeared forever, never to be experience by people who weren’t lucky enough to see it. That reason alone is why she values photography so much. For her, fashion photography is the form that she excels at because while a set of beautifully designed clothes may look pretty on their own, the clothes don’t reach their full artistic potential until they’re photographed correctly.
Being the middle Bailey, with Piper as her younger sister and Justin as her older brother, wasn’t always easy for Emma, and it is partially what made her so innocent and naïve in the first place. She grew up feeling like she never got the kind of attention that her siblings did, and because of that, she blindly fell for the first guy that showed any affection for her. Of course, that guy was just a guy who wanted to date her just so he could get in her pants. They were both juniors in high school, and he, like most guys in high school, wanted a popular, pretty girl by his side.
After her first relationship failed, Emma didn’t find her optimistic outlook on relationships dimmed by it. In fact, she’s gone out on a fair amount of dates, though most of them never turned out to be anything serious. For her, the only relationship that she wants to be in is one where there’s mutual respect and, as time goes on, love. Yes, she’s a romantic and she truly believes that there is someone for her out there, someone who is “The One” for her. However, none of the guys in her past relationships so far have come close to being that man for her.
While her romantic relationships have failed, her relationships with mostly everyone else in her life were almost always on good terms. Despite the fact that she always felt like Piper got the most love from her parents, whether it was true or not, Emma stayed close to her sister and considers Piper to be her best friend. Justin and Emma are close too, but they just don’t have quite the same relationship as the Bailey sisters. Hey, it’s sisterly love. Plus, there’s the fact that Piper and Emma are only ten months apart in age, while Justin and Emma have four year difference.
At the end of her senior year, the Bailey family moved to Los Angeles where Emma applied to attend the University of Southern California, located in the heart of LA. During her college years, she had a few major relationships, all of which ended up with her getting hurt. Her first serious boyfriend broke up with her after three months because he fell in love with another girl. A later boyfriend cheated on her and she found out. And after that, another guy only dated her to get back at his ex-girlfriend. In each failed relationship, Emma always believed herself to be hopelessly in love with the guy. It’s naïve, but that’s just what she is.
Even though she hasn’t had a successful relationship yet, with the relationship terminating on mutual terms, her outlook on love isn’t at all grim, her trust toward men hasn’t been trampled on. For Emma, she views it all as a part of life – she needs to take the hurt along with the joy. However, part of her knows that the reason why she’s never been affected deeply by any of these disappointments is because she hasn’t felt any truly genuine feelings for any of the guys – her feelings of love were, for the most part, quite shallow. She hasn’t yet committed herself to anyone that deeply, not because she doesn’t want to, but because she hasn’t felt that spark yet.
During college, Emma started studying photography in hopes of working as a photographer for Juice Magazine, for she’s always deeply respected that fashion magazine. While many may scoff and say that a fashion magazine has no substance, she wholeheartedly disagrees. Fashion magazines are like a journal of the cultural evolution of the world, and Juice is one of the best. After graduating from the university, she turned in her resume and portfolio. Despite her young age and lack of experience, Emma was offered a position as a full-time photographer for the magazine, which she, of course, gladly accepted.
Working for Caroline Corwin as the photographer for Juice Magazine has influenced Emma by making her more ambitious and confident in herself. She holds a deep respect for Caroline, her high opinion stemming from the fact that Caroline is so strong and extremely successful at the young age of thirty. Being a photographer for Juice has been more than just a job for her (which she loves) – it’s also allowed her to find a strong mentor, whom she trusts greatly.
