Elijah loved nights like this. It was one of those special themed nights at the club which meant he obviously had to be there. The nice thing was that there was a decent cover that night so it weeded out some people. He had definitely dressed to impress but was attempting to disguise himself by not shaving but it hadn't worked. Fans would be fans no matter what.
Piper had needed a night out and when she stepped into Club Luna, she knew she made the right decision. The club was bumping and the atmosphere was awesome. Not too crowded, but had just enough people to keep it interesting. Different colored lights illuminated the place, and the music was pumping throughout the entire club. She was dressed in a pair of low-riser jeans and a purple strapless top with a keyhole. She clutched her silver handbag as she made her way inside and towards the bar. She was meeting a few friends but she was a tad bit early. Stepping up to the counter, she leaned forward and shouted over the music, "I'll have an apple martini, please." She then reached into her purse for her money while she waited.
It wasn't like Elijah was looking for someone to go home this early but he did have a nice group of girls to select from. He was definitely partial to blondes and they seemed to like his arrogant attitude. So he decided to order them a round of drinks to loosen them up a little bit. Hopefully that would help him decide which was the best. He headed over to the bar and the second he was there he heard Piper's voice. "Damn girl," he said turning towards her and leaning against the bar. "Have we always partied at the same places?"
Piper raised both brows at the familiar voice coming from her left. A small curve of a smile threatened to form but she held it back stubbornly for now. She wanted to feel out the situation before showing any kind of excitement to see him. "Just in time to buy my first drink." she said, closing her purse shut with a snap just as the bartender set the glass in front of her.
"Oh?" Elijah said raising an eyebrow. So this was how it was going to go? Hot and cold. back and forth. "Where's your boy?" he said as he paid the bartender anyways. It wasn't like he didn't have the money to spare. What was the point of arguing with her? Plus she was ten times more fun when she was drunk.
She lifted her glass and sipped her drink while she toyed with the idea in her head for a moment. Should she make him sweat a bit and think she was with a date? Or should she play Miss Independent tonight? She set her glass down and caressed the bottom of it with her manicured fingertip. "Now, now, Elijah. You should know by now that I don't NEED to bring some egotistical barbarian with me everytime I go out to the bar." Man, it was hard not to notice how hot he looked but Piper never expected anything less from Elijah.
"But of course you do. That's why we dated. You need a famous egotistical hottie to show you off." He forced a smile and reached for her hand. "Come here princess," he said with a sly smile. She obviously wasn't here with someone which meant they could have fun. He glanced back at the girls who were waiting on him. "I want you to meet my friends. They love famous people."
Piper slid off of her stool and allowed Elijah to pull her toward him. Okay, so she couldn't help herself. This was Elijah and he seemed to always be able to have his way with her. Call her stupid but Piper couldn't fight the attraction she felt for him. "What?" she asked when she noticed the flock of females waiting, "I don't think so." she said, "Those skanks need to go somewhere." She wasn't even drunk yet and already she was feeling that pang of jealousy that loved to take control of her.
"Please," he said pouting a little as he let his arm fall around her slim waist. She looked hot tonight and if he had any belief that she'd actually go home with him he'd be happy but he knew that was a slim possibility. "If you do this for me I'll owe you big?" His other hand was now slowly moving to take her hand in his and starting to play with her delicate fingers. "They aren't skanks either."
She frowned, "Why do you want me to meet your hoes so bad?" she asked, trying to pull her hand back. "You know how I am, 'Lijah." she said, giving him a warning stare. Elijah looked so damn hot tonight but Piper was determined to not let him know it.
"Don't do that," he said taking her hand back into his. "We can just hang out together if you want." He grinned at her when they started to play his song. "Come on." he said starting to step backwards and pulling her along with him as he starting softly singing the words. "be my love for the night."
She rolled her eyes, though her lips formed a smirk. Elijah could be really charming sometimes, and singing to her was definitely winning her over for the night. "Fine! Fine!" she said, letting him win, "But it's just for tonight."
"mmmhmm," he said quite happy that he'd succeeded. They danced together and obviously he wasn't very good at keeping his distance or his hands to himself. He still was extremely attracted to her and would date her if she'd let him back in. Fat chance though. He definitely took advantage of this opportunity, singing along, grinding and an ocassional kiss but nothing to heavy. Not yet at least.
Piper would be a liar if she said she wasn't enjoying herself. Dancing with Elijah with no strings attached was actually quite fun, especially when she was recieving so many hateful glares from the other women in the club. Piper was envied, which was a feeling every woman enjoyed having. She didn't protest when she felt Elijah's hands on every part of her body while they moved to the music. She felt the sexual chemistry between them and she wondered if he would try to take her home tonight. After so many songs, she was ready to take a break. Leaning forward, she talked directly into his ear, "I need a drink before I die."
"Hmm," he said as he stopped moving. "Okay, we can take a break." He didn't really need one but maybe it was for the best before he got too worked up. The second they were off the dance floor one of the girls from earlier came over and put her arms around him. "Is it my turn now?" she asked almost cooing into his ear.
Piper's head snapped back the second she heard the skank speak. "Excuse me?" She looked the girl up and down, sizing her up. Yea...she could take her if it came down to it. She pulled Elijah towards her, "I do believe Elijah here has some kind of standards."
"Wait," he said as he wiggled himself free from both the ladies. He turned his back to the both of them to order Piper a drink. He wanted Piper so bad but he wasn't sure that he'd give up sex for just flirting with her. "I'll take whichever of you fine ladies is free tonight." There it was. He put it out there. Sure they could lie and maybe he was hoping Piper did. He needed to prove himself to her somehow. What better than exerting some self control?
Piper's hands moved to her hips as Elijah broke free and moved to the bar. She tapped her foot impatiently as her eyes bore into the skank across from her. Wait? Did he just tell her to wait? Sometimes she could really just strangle him. When he turned around and made his comment, Piper just stared at him. Was he kidding? Elijah did NOT just say that. He was supposed to tell the skank off and walk away with Piper. He was supposed to turn his nose up at her. She took the drink from him, "Actually....she can have you." She forced a smile, though didn't hide any fakeness behind it, and turned on her heels.
Elijah watched her go because he wasn't going to play these games. If she wanted him she'd have to stick around and actually fight. He wanted to have fun and at least have some company for later, didn't even have to be sex. Girls always assumed the worst and it was true sometimes. So he ended up dancing with Christina and like 2 other girls the rest of the night before he was getting ready to leave.
Piper sat at the bar for most of the night, only occasionally dancing when asked to by a few decent guys. Her eyes always wandered to where Elijah was grinding with some girl, and she tried her best to keep her jealousy under control. She hung out with her friends for a while, before they decided to go to another bar. Piper debated going with them. Elijah was here though, and that made it hard for her to leave. About a dozen drinks after arriving, Piper slipped off the stool and stumbled a bit as she headed towards the door. She nearly made it but she spotted Elijah heading out as well, with some girl on his arm. Some nerve! So, he was just going to take some bimbo home with him? She shook her head. Some things just never changed. She stopped at the door and waited for him. "Only about a hundred girls here and THIS is the best you can do?" she asked, "I'm disappointed in you, 'Lijah."
"I asked you," he replied quickly not even really looking at her. He helped the girl into a cab that was waiting and turned around back to Piper. Oh boy, she was drunk and so fucking gorgeous. A little bit of sweat glistening on her brow. He'd seen her dancing with other guys. it didn't make sense that he couldn't do that as well but it was a girl thing he guessed. "So," he said reaching for her hand, "You changing your mind?"
She tried to steady herself and was almost thankful that he took her hand, keeping her from falling. "No. I'm not changing my mind." she said, her words slurring somewhat. "If I wanted to be with you, I could have you just like... that." She snapped her fingers and glared at the girl in the cab.
"Oh really? I don't think that's true. Cause we've got a problem you see." He squeezed her hand as he leaned back against the cab pulling her against him. "I know you hate my guts and you only like bein around me when its convienent for you. It would take some convincing on your part to actually get into my apartment."
She rolled her eyes at him and would have pulled away if she were able to. Instead, she leaned against his muscular body. "You know what your problem is? You think you are sooooo much better than everybody." she said, "Well here's a news flash for ya. You're not. The only time I give you any kind of attention is when I'm bored. Plain and simple."
Elijah let his free hand move slowly up and down her back. "I'm not?" he laughed and pressed a quick kiss to her cheek. "You used to think I was pretty damn awesome. Especially at certain high points in our relationship." He grinned and this time was little more brave in his next comment. "Are you really bored right now and just looking for some entertainment or are you drunk and jealous that I turned you down?"
She didn't want him to kiss her. She was drunk and mad....and yea, a little bit jealous on top of that. "Yea, well... that all changed when you reminded me of what a scumbag you are when you cheated on me. Remember?" She tried to pull away again but was unsucessful. Damn, she was weak when she had a few too many. "YOU turned ME down?" she asked, now getting fired up. "Excuse me, honey but I think it was the other way around."
"Right, you can think whatever the hell you want but I know the truth. Plus if you didn't want to be with me why are you here?" He noticed she'd been with friends and had stayed behind. "Look," he said as he brushed some stray hairs out of her face. "Do you want a ride home or not?" he was going to make it simple because soon enough they'd be attracting attention.
Yet they already attracted enough attention for one night. They were really hard to miss. Not alot of people came to a club to fight and being that they were all celebrities this only made it worse. Hearing Elijah's response to Piper, Adrian couldn't resist. He went over and stood next to Piper, cutting in completely and not really giving a fuck. "No she doesn't want a ride. She has a Saab outside with her name on it. Stop embarassing her cause I think she's been ready to go since she first laid eyes on you." Looking to Piper, Adrian offered his arm. "Ready?"
Piper heard the voice come up from behind her but couldn't place it until she turned and looked directly at him. Adrian Young. And where the hell had he been all night? He could have saved her alot earlier. It had been a while since she last ran into him and she often wondered if he simply lost interest but now he was here and offering to help her out. She looked at Elijah and smirked, "Yea... I think I am."
"Ah there he is, the knight in shining armour. How wonderful." He hadn't seen the guy all night what had she done? Dialed his number or something. He looked down at Piper. "You serious?" He sighed. "Fine, but I don't think you should drive. It's not safe with how much you've had to drink." He wasn't about to let go of her that easily.
"You wanna pry yourself away from your ex now? I think everyone would greatly appreciate it if you'd go and be an asshole elsewhere." Adrian said an eyebrow rising at the situation.
Piper could totally kiss Adrian right now for saving the day. Elijah was embarassing her and now she was able to turn the tables around. She reached down and pushed Elijah's hands away from her waist. "I'm not gonna drive." she scowled, "Adrian is going to take me, remember?" She looked back at him, "You remember where I live, right?" she asked, flashing him a grin.
Adrian smiled down at her. "Of course I do." He looked to Elijah and shook his head in mock sympathy. There was nothing else he had to say to him and hopefully - he wouldn't case more of a scene.
So this was good. The kid hadn't spent the night recently. "Your letting him take you rather than me? Didn't I do a good job last time." Hell he had come over in the morning as well. But apparently that didn't mean shit. Maybe he just needed to give up on Piper ever giving him a chance again. "Piper," he said not smiling anymore, "Your decision but you know my car is just as nice."
She looked back at Elijah. Served him right to finally see her with another guy instead of it always being the other way around. "Hey, if I recall correctly, you have some skank waiting on you." she said, linking her arm with Adrian's. "Adrian can take me. I think you have your hands full already." She glanced at Adrian and did a double take. Well, damn how did she not noticed him earlier?
Elijah was pissed but he couldn't show it because that's what she wanted a reaction from him. He was going to play it cool. "alright," he said with a smile, "Have a nice night." He then opened the car door and slid in. Why fight her when he knew it wasn't going to get him anywhere?
"Have a nice night too," replied Adrian to Elijah but not really sparing another glance in his direction. Instead he smiled to Piper and was happy she hadn't shot him down. Then again, he was being a real bitch towards her. Any girl would be happy for an escape route.
She was a bit disappointed that Elijah took the easy route and left. She really expected more from him. So, that was it? He was just going to walk away? Well...shit. It would have been interesting to see him actually put up some kind of fight for her but she really shouldn't expect that much effort on his end. She frowned as he slipped into the car. "Yea... you too, 'Lijah. 'Night!" She watched him go and waited a moment before turning to Adrian. "Hey...thanks for that. You really saved my butt."
Adrian shrugged, "You're welcome. I felt like an idiot for not heading over earlier. He was really hassling you. You okay?" He made it over to his car and unlocked her side with the remote lock and opened it for her.
He saw the frown on her face and cursed to himself. She was so fucking confusing. Did she want him or not? Maybe he was getting a taste of his own medicine but she knew how he was about this shit. He had the driver loop around and saw them definitely not get into her car. He pulled out his phone and sent her a quick text message "Liar."
She climbed into his nice ride and leaned her head back against the seat. She really didn't know why she drank so much, or why she let Elijah Burr get under her skin the way he did. She should be completely done with is ass! Why, oh WHY was it so hard to tell him to fuck off and mean it? Maybe because a part of her wanted to believe that he was a good person deep down and that maybe...just maybe, he had a soft spot for her and could change if he really tried. She felt her phone vibrate as she waited for Adrian to get in. Flipping it open, she rolled her eyes at the message. Shutting it, she tossed it back into her purse and closed her eyes. She wasn't sure if it was the alcohol or Elijah but she felt the urge to puke.
