Llora walked into the photography studio with her usual on. A lightweight Calvin Klein jacket with a simple black top, Rock and Republic blue jeans and white flats that matched her black and white striped purse from Dior. She was doing her first campaign for Caroline Corwin. She was so excited, despite her look of nonchalance on her face. It was a small gig - she couldn't be that giddy. No one would know the label. Or well, no one would know them before now. Llora was ready to make B&R Couture a household name. She looked around the big room with the random props and the camera lights already set up. Llora arched an eyebrow when she saw... no one. Good Lord, let's be professional here? Ugh, the pitfalls of working with newbies. "Ummm... Hello!?"
Beth had been in the back talking with the photographer as he looked over the clothes she and Kate had decided to use for their... catalogue. She grinned, she couldn't help it. Their catalogue. Not someone else's.. But theirs. B&R! She looked back over that the photographer, who's names was Craig, and smiled nodding, though she had no idea what he'd just said. But he seemed pleased enough with her reaction and continued on talking. She turned her head, lifting a hand up to silence Craig for a moment. "Did you hear someone?" She asked before moving towards the front of the studio. She paused, seeing the tall.. very attractive brunette standing there, looking.. A bit lost. Had to be the model. Besides the fact that Beth recognized her from the pictures Caroline had shown them, she was ten times more attractive than should have been allowed. "Hi.." Beth greeted, glancing down at her own black jeans and white cap sleeved blouse and sighing before looking over at Llora and her.. seemingly perfectly put together outfit. Figured. But Beth smiled, and stepped forward, extending her hand out to Llora. "You must be Llora. I'm Beth, one of the owners of B&R.."
Llora smiled as she finally saw someone show themselves. She went over and took her hand in her own. "Hello, Beth. It's a pleasure to finally meet you." Llora shook her hand and let it go briskly. She went back to looking around, in search of the photographer. "Caroline's told me a lot about you and your humble line. I'm ready whenever you are. I just have one small request." Llora said holding up one finger and flashing Beth another one of her perfect smiles. "Do you have anything I can sip on? Water, wine, hell - a cocktail?" She grinned. "Really. I am absolutely parched. Can't work with thirst, now can I?" She tilted her head a bit, eager to hear Beth's reply. This was sure to be a very interesting shoot.
Beth's brows shot up listening to Llora talk. Humble?! What the hell was that about? Yeah, okay.. Beth took a deep breath, determined not to bite the model's head off within the first 10 minutes of meeting her. After that though? Yeah, it would be on if she continued talking the way she was. She shook her head, and motioned towards the small table that was filled with little sandwiches and bottled waters. "Sorry, all we have is water." She said flashing Llora a smile of her own. And if if they'd had anything other than water, Beth sure as hell wouldn't have offered the girl anything else. Hello? She'd seen the chick's model stats or whatever, and she was not about to go to jail for giving her alcohol to drink. "So help yourself, and then we can begin."
She saw her eyebrows go up ten inches and Llora thought nothing of it. She couldn't think of anything she'd said that would offend her. Honestly! If anything she'd been nothing but nice. Llora was really trying her best to be a good model, cause she wanted to show Caroline that she could. If Beth was going to make that difficult though... Llora would just have to find a way to fight fire with fire. While maintaining the good thing. "Right, thanks." Help herself indeed. She probably knew she wasn't 21. Stupid stat sheets. Oh well, Llora went over and grabbed a bottle of water.
[08:41] endian_attitude: Chilled, not room temperature - which she hated and her nose wrinkled up because of it. But Llora just sighed and screwed the top off. Taking a sip, she looked over her shoulder at Beth. "So, where's your partner in crime? And the photographer? Don't you want us to be introduced before we start?"
"The photographer, who's name is Craig by the way, is back Oooing and aaahing over the clothes I brought over. And Kate? Kate's not feeling so well today, so she stayed home." Beth replied, though really wished that Kate was here. Oh man, she wouldn't have held back on Llora, that was for sure. But she'd blame the whole her being pregnant and such. But whatever. She smiled again and flipping her blond hair over her shoulder began walking back to where she'd left Craig. "So, if you want to meet Craigh, he's this way." She called over her shoulder.
"Awesome! I'm coming," she said re-shouldering her bag and jogging across the room to follow Beth. Llora took another swallow of water and tried to imagine in her mind what he'd be like. What the clothes would be like. Hopefully not too... ready to wear. Cause let's face it, some ready fugly stuff got passed off as couture these days. Llora only hoped she wasn't setting her comeback up in a sea of primadonna threads. Rounding a corner, a middle aged man with glasses and an impeccable taste in clothing looked up from a rack. Llora's face lit up and so did his. "Hey you!" He moved around and extended his arms to her, "Llora Alberro. Hello yourself doll face." They hugged and Llora grinned. "I thought it was you. Only one Craig ooo's and ahh's over clothes in this industry."
Beth looked between the two, slightly confused by the whole hugging-fest or whatever. So they knew eachother? Big deal. Sighing, she shook her head, never understanding the whole 'Ohmigosh! I like totally missed you!' scene. But to each their own right? She finally smiled, crossed her arms and rocked back on her heels a bit. "Ah, so nice to see I won't have to introduce you two.."
"Oh no. Craig and I have done plenty of shoots together. One when I was campaigning for Gloss Cosmetics," said Llora matter of factly and stepped back. He was by far her favorite photographer of all time - which was why she was so happy to see Craig! Here of all places! Newbies didn't get seasoned vets like him often. Craig nodded, "The campaign that shot Gloss to the #1 spot on the West Coast." Llora went to the racks with a grin in place on her face. "Soooo, let's get down to it - shall we?" She looked to Beth with a smile. "This shouldn't be hard for us, after all. Any pre-picked outfits I should be looking at?"
Beth nodded, a faint smile playing across her lips, "Ah, how nice for you two." She said a bit dryly, not really caring if they'd dated once upon a time and had ten kids together. She wasn't here for social hour, she was here to get hers and Kate's clothing line out there! She shook her head, and focused on Llora who was flipping through the racks of clothing. "Everything is already put together. Outfits along with accessories," She explained but quickly hurried over as Llora placed a skirt back in the wrong spot. "No, no! Please don't mix everything up!" She cried and quickly pulled the skirt out and put it back in it's spot. She took a deep breath, "Alright.. So let's start from the left side of the rack and work towards the right." She said and pulled out an azure silk camisole top with striped grosgrain straps and held it out to Llora as she reached for a pair of white straight-leg five pocket jeans with the B&R logo Kate had designed stitched onto waistband at back, and their signature 'B&R' stitched on back pockets. "And.. With this outfit.. The High heeled blue heels with the white heels.."
Llora took a step back from the rack when she started to well, flip out on her, and held both hands up - to show that she came in peace. Or well, that she was unarmed just in case Beth wanted to throw something at her. "Okay... sorry. Left to right it is. No big." Taking the outfit Beth held out for her, Llora forced a smile and then grabbed the appropriate pair of shoes. "Alright, dressing room..." Locating it, Llora didn't waste anytime getting dressed. She knew they were on a clock and the quicker she changed the better. Llora stepped out and ran her hands down the jeans cautiously - her heels clicking across the floor.
Craig and Beth chatted about various fashion disasters they had seen over the years as Llora changed .Beth couldn't help but laugh, Craig was unusually funny, and some of the things he said? Just oh so wrong, but she loved it! She grinned, shaking her head as Llora finally re-emerged in the B&R outfit, and Beth hurried over to her , cautiously looking her over, making sure that everything fit correctly. Muttering under her breath, she dug into her pocket and pulled out a small box of pins and pulled a few out before shoving the box back in her pocket. "Okay, don't move," She said as she began to carefully pin the straps of the camisole top up, making them shorter. Grinning she stepped back. "It looks great!" She cried excitedly and looked over at Craig, who grinned and nodded his approval before motioning for Llora to come with him to the set. "Alright doll face, let's get to work."
She looked down at her self again and admitted... the outfit was pretty. Very street-worthy. Llora had to commend the newbie. Although the sight of her pulling out some pins gave her flashbacks to some runway shows gone horribly wrong. Which always included her getting stabbed somehow with those things. She exhaled deeply when she was done. Llora smiled to Beth and then to Craig. "Sure thing." She went over and stood in front of the camera. She flipped her hair over her shoulder and smiled as she did some warm-up poses.
Beth watched with interest as Craig and Llora worked, and every once in awhile would find herself adjusting something in the different outfits Llora tried on through the photo shoot. Though as she watched, she had to admit she herself could never be a model. Smiling all the time? Doing this pose, and that? No way, no thank you! She grinned as Llora came out of the dressing room again, this time wearing a pretty a pretty empire waist Merlot cotton knee length v-neck dress with navy blue and khaki heart embroidered hem. The dress had long sleeves with small pleating detail around shoulders and tapered cuffs. She looked over Llora, and was pleased when she realized there were no adjustments needed at all. "Great.. Ummm these heels." She said pointing to a pair of strappy navy blue high heeled sandals.
"Thank you," she said taking the strap-happy four inchers and putting them on, although Llora wasn't too fond of the dress. It was just one of the few ensembles she didn't like. "You know what? My opinion means nothing since I'm just the equivalent of a human clothes hanger, but you and your partner in crime are good. Like, really good. I can't remember the last time I've looked so good in a clothing campaign." Looking up from her feet and resuming her spot in front of Craig's len, Llora flashed Beth a smile, "Cheers!"
Beth resisted the urge to roll her eyes, at Llora's comments and flashed her a smile. "Oh geez, that so sweet of you Llora. I'll be sure to let Kate know you liked out stuff." Okay, so maybe that was Llora's idea of a compliment, well with her putting herself into it. .But whatever. She leaned back in her seat and crossed her legs before picking up her phone and flipped through her text messages and grinned, seeing one from James. She quickly replied to him, letting him know that she was almost done with Llora's photo shoot. Sighing, she laid her cellphone in her lap and looked back over at Craig and Llora. It seemed like her and James had hardly spent any time together. Not with him and Marti off doing this interview and that one.. But then again, she had been busy too.. And with this new Catalogue they were putting out.. It wasn't likely things would calm down anytime soon. She blinked, looking up as Craig came over letting her know that they were done, and that Llora was back changing her clothes. "Oh.. Okay. Thanks Craig.. I'm sure all the pictures'll turn out great."
Llora picked up her purse as she headed out and was happy that went as smoothly as it did. Although Beth, she was... well, she was something like a total bitch. She'd hate to come back and do a campaign for her - if she ever had to. Some people thought the models were totally full of it, Llora was proof that it wasn't them. For the first time she'd been on her best behavior and she still got treated like a big ass mannequin. Maybe they weren't as newbie conditioned as she thought. Whatever. She came, she posed and her career survived long enough to see another day at Starbucks. "I'm gone. Good luck with everything Beth. Craig," she said pointing to him when she got his eye and winked. "Later man." Llora found her own way out, not even wanting to stick around anymore.
Beth had been in the back talking with the photographer as he looked over the clothes she and Kate had decided to use for their... catalogue. She grinned, she couldn't help it. Their catalogue.
